Repairing a broken Toucan

I remember a few weeks ago a regular contributor was discussing a dying Toucam.

I noticed that Telescopes and Astronomy in South Australia claim to be able to repair Toucams

"
NOW ABLE TO REPAIR TOUCAMS
We are now able to repair ToUcams by replacing the CCD Chip for $65 plus post. This is the most common problem experienced with the cameras. I haven't come across any other problems."

Just thought I would post it up in case this is of any use to him or others

Cheers

Niko

Ahhhh, thanks Nick,

I only just found this thread

I might have to look into it, or even investigate using a bigger better chip if I end up changing chips at all.
Be nice to be able to put a Canon 350D chip in it. Toucam Simplicity with Canon quality!
