Way back in my reckless youth in the early 1960's, some friends and I decided to liven up the town of Amersham (Bucks) by staging a mock bank robbery. We went into the bank, put balaclava helmets on our heads, I held a music bag (the swag bag, )and my friend brandished a motorcycle footrest.
Out of the bank we charged and got clean away. What a let down we thought... unbeknown to us the whole of Amersham was sealed off, the Police moved into top gear before enquiring at the bank what had happened...

and the Press found out. To cut a long story short, we were caught and eventually charged under the Justice of the Peace Act, 1368

for "Acting and armed in a manner likely to make it look as if a felony had been committed."
Our punishment?? five and sixpence court costs and bound over to keep the peace for a year!

And I didn't even get 6 of the best at school

WOW, I wouldn't do that these days....
