Asking price reduced to $6000. If there is no serious interest in the package at this level, I will be dividing it up rather than further dropping the asking price.

Attached are some pictures that show how the Losmandy dovetail fits on the OTA. There are three screws into the OTA, two in the rear and one in the front, as well as two spacers which fit the dovetail to the curve of the tube. I've also uploaded several detailed pictures to the site mentioned above.

Also, I'm willing to ship the wedge if desired.

Regards,
Eric

The lots have been moved into their own threads to help me maintain my sanity. Also, the ED80 asking price has been lowered.

Hi,

I have two questions.

Is it possible for one person to manage this scope and set it up ?

also, can you tell me what it would cost to send it to the Gosford area.
If you dont know, maybe you could tell me the weight of it and I could ask at a post office my end.
Great looking scope ....

cheers Geoff

I'd gladly drive as far as Gosford to deliver it, that is not a problem. Post/courier would be very $$$ due to bulk.

This scope is very manageable for one person. The total assembly weighs 41Kg including the tripod. The OTA/Forks weigh 32Kg, and need to be lifted onto the tripod base.

If you decide to use a wedge, then it becomes a bit more of a two person job to get it lined up, unless you have a little extra muscle or height.

I have the original box for the scope, as well as the hard case that is listed in another thread. The hard case is much more transportable for one person, as it has wheels.

Regards,
Eric

Correction, according to Meade specs the OTA/Forks weigh 28Kg (62 lbs) with accessories removed. The field tripod weighs 9Kg (19lbs).

Eric

Many, many, many years ago I had a 10" Meade SCT. I recall the 62 pound weight, but it is managable, very. I used the wedge system too, and didn't really have too many problems. Obviously you don't want to going up and down too many stairs, though LOL. Great scope, lots of bang for the buck.

To sum up the current state of the sale, the asking price is $3500, I am willing to ship or to deliver within about 800Km, and estimated shipping to Sydney is $300 including insurance.
