DMK Moon

Been a while since I've had a chance to do any imaging, and the conditions have been dreadful pretty much since I arrived in Bris in late July. I'm sure other Brisbanites will tell me it's been poor seeing for longer than that?

Anyway...it's been even longer since I've imaged the moon and given that I'm now going down the DMK route for the Mars Opposition, I thought I'd better get some practice in

Not much to crow about, but at least I'm coming to terms with the camera.

Here's Clavius, both a crop and the original full version. Happy with the fine detail on the crater floor.

DMK 21AF04.AS, Astronomik red filter, taken at prime focus. Best 80 frames of 1000.

Thanks for looking.

Thanks Paul.

Couldn't help having a go at Jupiter, even though it's well past its best.

This was with the 2.5x Powermate.

Not a cracker on what it was a few months ago...but still good fun.

Whoops - you did these tonight? We've just returned from yoga and I was thinking of breaking out the Mewlon. Maybe not eh? Looking at the jet stream map, Ken would have had 12/10 the past 2 nights! LOL.

Cheers

Here’s my Clavius from last night. Mewlon 180 with TeleVue x2.5 PowerMate and DMK21AF04.AS.

111 Frames from 3000. Wavelet 1 = 50.

Cheers

Nice work, Dennis.

I'll use the Ultima 2x barlow or 2.5x Powermate next time

It's hard not to 'burn out' those lit crater walls, when there's such a huge amount of contrast difference.
