[FOUND] : ED80 rings

Hi

If you have a set of standard rings to suit an ED80 that you don't use anymore, please contact me.

Thanks

Mike, they sell them reasonably cheaply at MyAstro Shop. That's where I got mine.

Mike,

Are you chasing hinged 80mm rings that clamp the OTA in contact all around the circumference for simply fitting to a plate, or are you looking for (e.g. 100mm or 125mm) guide rings that have the 2 x 3 adjustable bolts so you can fine tune the pointing of the OTA?

Cheers

Dennis

The former, Dennis. I'm not looking for guide-type rings, but the full clamp ones to fit to an EQ3.

Hi Mike

I would recommend getting hinged rings that open up. I once had some non hinged Vixen rings that were very nice, but I had to unscrew the lens cell from the OTA to slide the OTA through the non-hinged rings and it was a tedious procedure, unless it is a one off permanent set up.

Cheers

Dennis

Thanks Dennis - I'm definitely after hinged ones. The ones I have now for the Saxon ED80 are that type, and I just want another set for the EQ3.
