Just one week to go till I'm on annual leave... I'm going over to Canada for a mate's wedding in Vancouver. Another mate of mine is going over as well, so we'll hook up when I get there and do some touring during the weeks leading up to the wedding. We'll spend 3 weeks looking around BC prior to the wedding.
I hope to get some great photos! ( I also hope to drop in to the Dominion Astrophysical Observatory or at least the "Centre of the Universe" while I'm there
).
In the meantime Lyn and I have been working our... well we've been working hard to get my house on the market, so we can buy a little property out of town. Something that will have enough space for the girl's horses, and enough dark skies for my scope!
To be honest it doesn't have to be very dark to be way better than where I am now!
Today was a big day for us. Up at 5:30, move all the furniture out of the house, rip up all the carpet and underlay... relax for a while while the new carpet was laid, and then rebuild the house! We finished about 6:30, and a glass of wine didn't take long to hit the spot when we finished, I can tell you!
So the house is on the market, a buyer is coming to inspect in the morning, and I've only got 4 days next week to finish a heap of work (at work too! - who would've thought!!!
) before I go. Lyn is pumping the place and the real estate agents full of positive vibes...
she plans to have the place sold this weekend, and to have moved before I get back, so what can I say... go girl!
So needless to say, I haven't been getting the scope out much lately, but most of my time has been put into getting the house ready to sell, so I can move somewhere darker!
Fingers crossed we'll sell soon!
Oh, wouldn't it be nice to come back from Canada to a new house and not have to do any moving myself!!!!
...I wish!!!
