A few 200mm widefields

Hi all again..
Been having lots of clear skies up this way but horrible seeing so have decided to do a few widefield shots with my 200 f/2.8
Conditions are fairly clear but quiet a bit of smoke around and the seeing really bad.. It has even shown itself when you look closely at some of the frames with only 200mm!!!
Exposures were kept short to minimize seeing and gusty wind effects so they are not as deep as I usually like them, but not too bad I think...
First is M16-17 which is 20 x 2 min iso 800
Second is Corona Australis area showing all that lovely dark stuff with some reflection and a glob thrown in!
28 x 2 min at iso 800
All stacked in Deepskystacker and processed in PS.
Images are around 500ks in size..

Great work Gary. My pick of the two would have to be Corona Australis. I really enjoy this area of the sky. Rather mystical with the brown dust sweeping through the scene. The blue reflection nebs are magnificent and warrant going deep with a long focal length instrument. There appears to be a slight blue gradient that shifts to the lower right of the frame but overall this does not detract from the beauty of this scene. Well done.

Thanks Eric! I have a bunch of profiles for DSS and I pick the one that works the best for that image...cheers

Thanks Jase for the comment! I didn`t worry about the gradient as I thought it was a natural one from the milky way but looking at other images of it its not so now its gone!!!!

Thanks Mark, I`m happy with the M16-M17 but I think I could do much better with the corona image....have to wait for very clear skies..

Thanks Scott for the comment... Its a beautiful area of sky abd I still havn`t imaged it yet with the newt....might give it a go if it doesn`t get too smokey..

Great shots gary!...I really like M16-M17...it may seem like an odd question and my little pocket atlas may not go to a high enough mag,but just to right at three'oclock from M16 is that sh2-53??? If you can confirm or correct that would be grand.

Great images Gary, I like the M16-M17 one. The nebula on the right of M16 is in NGC 6604. I think it is LBN 72 not Sh2 53. It is very faintly visible in a 10" or 12" with a UHC filter.

The dark nebula in CrA should be called Dunlop 559, it was found by him in 1826. It is usually called Bernes 157 but he didn't catalogue it until 1977.

Thanks for the info on that neb to the right Glenc!, I have seen it before in images but have never known its name! I will have to do a closeup with the newt one day!!
