Magnitude Estimates

What is the magnitude of the Tarantula nebula in the LMC? Can you see it with the naked eye? Last night I estimated it to be about magnitude 6.6 by comapring it with the out of focus image of the nearby star I 276 using my 20x80s. I can see it with the naked eye.

Using the same method I estimate the nebula NGC 346 in the SMC is mag 7.4 and the globular NGC 4372 in Musca is magnitude 8.6 not the usually quoted magnitude 7.2.

My estimates need checking, what do you think?
