Their Best Objects
Lacaille, James Dunlop and John Herschel were the main discoverers of southern NGC objects.
Here is a list of their best (IMO) objects, one of each type; open cluster, globular cluster, nebula, planetary nebula and galaxy.
Best usually means brightest but other things are also considered.
