Air, should arrive in a week. Apparently it weights 17lb, which is about 7.5kg.

Not light, but certainly transportable without too much drama.

Almost The shipping is the killer

It's at customs.. however they're not releasing it yet - apparently some paperwork was not filled in properly so I need to fax them some details today. With any luck i'll still receive it by the end of the week!

I have a set of instructions for making a platform like that. The level of craftmanship and types of tools needed make the purchase of a proven model like yours a worthwhile investment.

Now you have an excuse to spend even more time under the stars.

Exactly! I *could* have struggled for months trying to make my own, but I don't have:
a) the time
b) the skills
c) the tools
so it was better for me to be able to buy one. I couldn't find one locally, so having to pay to get one made and shipped was my only option.

The good news is, it should clear customs today and be delivered tomorrow!

Customs just wanted to know what an "equatorial platform" was

I hate customs they are sticky beaks. They always intercept my pirate dvd copies of the latest movies : ). Looking forward to seeing some stunning pics in the not too distant future Mike.

Looks good Mike....

When ever I receive parcels from overseas they come with the customs sticker on it saying "Box inspected and resealed by customs"....lol

I feel violated.....

You cant rush Customs either....they can take aslong as they wont...

It's cleared customs. Should arrive tomorrow.

But for some reason I had to pay some taxes (AU$93) because it was over a AU$250 limit.. it came via FedEx. I asked Brian to send it via USPS, so i'm not sure what's happened.

I've emailed him to find out
