Lenght of dew heater leads

Hi Guys, has anyone else found that the dew heater strap leads are just to short at times, and one must be mindful of there length each time the mount slews to a different location.

I seem to have this problem often, and a number of times just have just wrenched the leads out of there sockets.

I have the main control box very close to the base of the G11 mount, and the strap is around the top of the Tak, and one on the 300 mm lens, yet they prove to be to short.

Where do others mount there main control box to fix this problem or do i just live with it and keep watch when slewing.

Thanks for any comments.

Leon

Leon, our dew heater straps have rca plugs fitted and we purchased rca extension leads from Dick Smiths to use with our Kendrick controller. Perhaps take your heater strap and controller to them and see what they have.

I mounted my control box on top of the guidescope. Maybe not so easy with the Kendrick one if it is too big.

With it mounted on top, all the leads to the heaters and the fan move with the mount and don't get tangled, strained or anything. Only the single power lead (plenty long enough) hangs down.

You could cut the wire and put another length in.
