Earthquake in Indonesia Sumatra Possible Tsuanami Allert.

Just watching the Indian news on NDTV and the following is being reported.

Earth Quake in Indonesia Sumatra measured 7.9 12/9

Tsunami alert has been issued on the islands east of India.

I hope and pray that no one is hurt.

Waiting for results from Christmas Is. and Cocos Is. They shouldn't be too far away now.

I just heard the Indian news indicating that the should know in about 40minutes. Thats when the wave if one has been generated will reach the nearest measuring gauges.

But its expected to be a fizzer. Because India measured it as 7.3 the one that caused the last Tsunami was 9.

Indonesia / Sumatra has been getting hammered with earthquakes, i must have 20 or so emails from USGS alerts!

Indonesia and Sumatra sit right on top of a subduction zone where two geologic plates meet.

If you have google Earth switch on the volcano and earthquake option and these areas light up like a Christmas tree.
