Help needed

Hi,
I bought myself a Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2 DVD Creator to go with my GStar-Ex.
The problem is this, while the camera does work, the largest image size I can get out of it is 160 x 120. When I try to change it, I get an error message saying that the device does not support this image size.
Well, I know from the documents that came with it that it does.
I know that others have used this same device with this camera, it is supported by the Gstar program.
So what am I doing wrong? It's frustrating the hell out of me.
I've also posted this question on the Gstar forum, but I think that some of the members may spend more time here than there so I might get an answer sooner. LOL
Cheers
Jeanette

Not sure jjjnettie, maybe check that you have all the latest drivers for the
devices concerned.

Did you install the video studio that came with it? I had a problem with mine as it was stuck in NSTC mode and couldn't get PAL mode. I emailed them and they said you also have to install the video app that comes with it as well for it to work properly. Also some video codecs only work at certain resolutions as well. I have a Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2 DVD Creator andMintron camera as the well, not the G-Star ex but mine works good now.

I did install the Ulead program that came with the Belkin, making sure I did it all in the correct order.
When I plug it into the USB plug hole, Windows pops up a message saying that this device will work much better with USB 2. Hmmm according to the puter's manual all 3 slots are USB 2.
Maybe I'll uninstall and start from scratch again.
I can't think of anything else I'd rather do on a rainy night.

Have you checked that the usb ports are really usb2 as these usb2 capture devices will still capture using usb1 but at a lower resolution.

I'll try using the other slots and see if that makes a difference.

I installed it on the desktop computer, no worries. It works brilliantly set to the highest resolution.
Back to the laptop.
