Ngc4945

Hello to all,
It's been a while since I was here last. I've had a dose of that "Worst Flu ever" that everyone seems to be trying out. I've been laid flat for a couple of weeks! But still trying to making use of those few clear nights... against everyones best advice

Here is a picture NGC4945 taken a few nights back. Quite a bright and huge galaxy but difficult to detail. Wednesday was the best night I've seen all year so far, before the clouds rolled in.

Great to see you back Eddie, hope you're recovering well!

Great image! The detail in the dust lanes is amazing!

Nice work Eddie,
Did you crop the image at all? There is a Supernova currently active in NGC4945. Just out of frame on top right of galaxy in your image.
See http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/a...achmentid=2112
Cheers

Hi Robby,

The image is slightly cropped but on the left-hand side so I missed the SN. Thanks for the link, I had no idea about it. I hope it was discovered before the 31st May, otherwise I'll kick myself for missing it

Glad your back on your feet Eddie. Nothing like a great hobby to help you back to recovery. Feeling good about capturing images like that help too.
