Is there numbers for these objects

Hi Guys,

I should probably know this but cant seem to find reference to it, but is there any Messier No's, NGC or similar to accurately center the small and large mag clouds.

So if there is anyone out there that may be able to steer me in the right direction.

Thank You.

Leon

Hi Leon, I don't think there is one for the LMC but the SMC is NGC292. What are you trying to center with?

Go to the 4 last entry on this page http://www.seds.org/messier/xtra/supp/o_NED.html#lmc

it has a number of alternate entries for the LMC and the SMC at 3rd from the bottom

Hi Paul and thank You, there is no doubt about it, what would we do with out you.

I was trying to center the LMC, in particular without manually assisting the G11 for a centered shot with the Tak, it is a pretty wide area to frame, and you have greatly assisted me.

Cheers Leon
