Wes Higgins is amazing, he's been doing it at the top of his game for years. His lunar images are among the best taken anywhere by anyone with any telescope.

Looks great though the side walls of the craters look CGI'd and it's pretty confusing.

Ingo,

Interesting comment, haven't heard CGI used since I left the film industry.
I didn't know they applied that to stills. But I suppose you could.

On another note, it is easier to be at the top of the game when you have
good gear and your imaging through an 18" Carl Zambuto mirror : )

Most of the image looks pretty heavily computer processed to me, definitely doesn't look all real.

Not being an expert on imaging, but watching it downloading (dialup) it seemed to be a patchwork of images ,sometimes not quite lined up.
To many straight lines.
Very good all the same.

That's a stunning image IMO. Here's a link to the index page to many of his lunar images if you are interested in browsing:

http://www.higginsandsons.com/astro/

I thought the DMK 21F04 was a 640x480 camera, but this image is a lot bigger. Any ideas as to whether its a mosaic or resampled, or have I got my DMK cameras confused? (that's not unrealistic!)

Al.
