M27 dumbell first go with newt!

Hi all again..
Here is my first attempt at this fine PN M27 with my 6" f/5.6 newt and canon 300d.
Like usual up here lately the seeing was rather poor with the guidestar doing the jig most of the time but very good transparancy!!. But not having done much imaging with the newt this winter I have been a bit eager to get a few more different objects even though I could do better with the seeing!!

Anyways image is 14 x 2min at iso 1600 with 2 Df removed, stacked in deepskystacker and processed in PS.
Quiet happy with how it came out..the extra chilly night helped to keep the noise at a minimum as I don`t usually use iso1600 but with the seeing being iffy and being cold I thought I give it a go!!!.

Very nice Gary. The outer shell contains subtle details and star colour balance looks "on the mark". I think the nebula looks a little too blue compared to the typical teal present in this object (personal opinion). Regardless, this is still a fantastic image. Job well done

Cracker shot Gary. Seeing looks like it was a bit off, giving the slurred stars, but man oh man it must be good just being able to image? Very nice.

Yes a fine image, nicely processed.

I really like the dumbell nebula...could have something to do with my background in pumping iron? Sigh...now a distant memory, about the only thing I can lift these days is peoples spirits

Go the 6" Newt !

As Jase mentioned, the ejecta nebula is generally a bit more on the Teal side,
but I've also seen this 'more' blue shade to it as well on other images.

Great going for 28' worth.
Nicely processed indeed especially pushing the camera speed to 1600asa... like Diets mentioned.

I agree Jase and Rich with the color of the dumbell, I did drop the green level slightly so maybe that gave it a more blue color than the teal....I shall play with it a bit more and see if I can improve on the colors!!
I was surprised at how well it came out considering the crappy seeing as the guidestar was moving erratically many arc secs this way and that!! I will have to wait for better seeing to have another go..but was great and give the scope a go!! theres only so many widefield shots one can do in the same month!!...
I am quiet pleased with the results at iso 1600 as well. I think it only came out well as it would have been close to 0 degrees with little ccd noise. I don`t think it would be too nice in summer time heat but!!!
