Eclipse Practice Aug 27th

This was taken with my D50 @ around 280mm @ F6 ISO200

50 x 1/400s Light
4 x 1/400s Dark

Maybe I need more darks? This picture is a full crop downsized maybe 100 pixels from the full crop. It looks pretty good though & I should be good for the eclipse if the Sun isn't up by then. Maybe I can still get it.

Nice image Ingo. On this LCD the area around Tycho is overexposed though. Was this through post-processing (enhancing contrast)?
Either way, check your histogram and ensure you don't clip either end.

Yeah, the bottom is overexposed. I have no clue why but it appears I'd have to do some sort of HDR to get it correctly exposed? I didn't touch contrast & I tried to mess with curves a bit but it did nothing to the bottom.

Hopefully it won't be too early in the morning or near moonset. It'd be my first eclipse I'd see. The last one that was very visible here... it was cloudy.
