I am going to wait until it comes to DVD and watch it on my plasma. I will not pay $15:00 to watch a scatched and over pixelated movie that should be shown on a digital projector, when the movie cinema's are too cheap to upgrade.

So I guess I will have to wait six months for the DVD. Besides we all know how it ends.

I'll also be waiting for the DVD, better value for money. I've read that some cinema's in the USA have started swapping over to digital, and for people that appreciate high picture quality it is very noticable. Hopefully it catches on over here.

It will be interesting to see how Lucas bridges the gap between the "old technology" of the storm troopers in the original three films to the apparently more advanced clone army of II which chronologically precede them.

I plan on seeing it at some stage with my mates. Coincidence, the 19th of May is the birthday. Hey, that makes my birthday exactly a week away.

Aww, but you miss out on the experience. The smells, the sights, the social interaction! And of course, us noisy teens

Anyway, greatly looking forward to it. Personally, I love all the Star Wars movies, regardless of what those "I hate the new ones, George Lucas stuffed it up" people say. The new (or should I say old prototypes) X-wings look awesome.

Yeah Mike I am all ready. In fact some of my Star Wars buddies are having a Epi1 and 2 viewing on Wed itself prior to the movie (midnight screening!!!!). We then dress up and head on down to the city (Regent Cinema) at Queen's Street mall. For the brisbanites here I will be going as Luke "farmboy" Skywalker while Mark will be going a the Emperor's Royal Guard (the one with the red helmet) and Nick will be going as a Sith lord. I understand that there are several other people dressing up. For Epi 2, one of the girl's went as Amidala. The only thing I need now is a lightsaber and I don't think the wife likes me spending $20 on a plastic thingy

Young at heart Darren ))))))

NO Orion,

as I said it just happened to be there. I think with the way things are going with organising the viewing night we should just hit the cinemas and see this movie. I mean it can't rain indoors can it?

The movie was screened at Cannes last night, and apparently some of the bigger chains in the cities around the place.

Anyone see it?

NO SPOILERS PLEASE!

oh and I know, anakin becomes darth vader..

that's not the spoliers I mean

Darren, I bought my son a twin set of light sabers, the plastic ones that extend when you swing them out with the button down. You gotta get yourself some!

Hey Mike,

Yup I finally got one (lightsaber I mean). It is the same as the ones you mentioned. I will use it for the premier and then maybe give it to my 3 year old niece. You have to start them young Anyway the premier is looming. Can't wait.

Darren

p/s: have you watched the Clone Wars Vol 1 cartoon yet? If you have not do watch it (together with Vol 2 which is split into 5 12 minute episodes on starwars.com) as it links Attack of the Clones with Revenge of the Sith.

Hey Guys,

I have seen it. Not extremely blown away but it is much better than the first two prequels, but unfortunately not up to the standards of the original trilogy. Again George relied heavily on
CGI for all his worlds. But this one is very very dark and it "IS NOT
FOR KIDS". Very very violent with a lot of very graphic death
scenes. The last scene was particularly disturbing though the person in question did not die (you know who, no need to elaborate). That one scene haunted me and I could not
sleep well last night. I'am not going to say more or it will spoil the
movie for you guys. Will I watch it again????? Most probably....and oh yes there are heaps of jedi battle scenes and the beginning space battle was like a rollercoater ride......woohoo!

On the costume front, Brissie was out in force (literally!). We were well represented, Luke farmboy, imperial guard, sith lord, jawa (with blinking eyes), Princess Leia (with the
buns) and imperial officer. And there was an overabundance of jedi's there that I am glad I did not go as a jedi. There were also couple of Amidala's but two stood out as they were...well pretty, rather tall and had really elaborate costumes. One had that ceremonial garb on (the one she
wore when she went back to Naboo's lake district with the bare back) and the other one was dressed in the leotard like white jumpsuit she wore at the arena battle on Geonosis. But the best costumes would have to be Darth Vader (there were two but the real one from one of the local comic book shops was the best), the emperor (there were two, one in the traditional black robes and the other red one he wore at the formation of the empire), some stormtroopers and Aayala Secura (this blue twilek
(with the protrusions down the back of her head). This petite girl
painted her body blue to suit the jedi she was trying to
imitate...nice. also there was another twilek Shaak Ti (quite an
elderly woman) and she brough an R2D2 on a cart! There several tall people dressed as Yoda which did not match, but one of them had a life sized Yoda. So there you have it, the Star Wars Epi 3 premier at the Regent cinema in Brissie city...

Darren
