First Snow

We had our first snowfall for this year in the valley last night.

Exciting isn't it.

It was -3.2 last night while I was imaging with the new IR filter, and today we had hail and sleet!

Come on Snow!

Yes, it was a pleasant suprise considering what its been like. The ice on the roof of the Observatory was interesting. It was multi-layered as if the 1st layer of dew froze, then a new batch came and froze on top of it, and then again. The ice crystals stood up like layered Stalagmites!
