Jeanette is a big part of Iceinspace, and has been for past two and a half years. She is a close friend, not only to myself, but to many iceinspacers. Those who have had the good fortune to meet her would without doubt consider her one of the loveliest persons you could meet. She is one of these rare people that will do anything for anybody, jump in boots and all, give the shirt of her back if needed. The heart and soul of an angel, though she would never admit it

. I think she'd like us to think that she is as tough as old boots, an outback Queensland country girl (even though she is from some other place down south, we claim her for here

). Well maybe she is in many ways. But at the moment she needs your love and support.
Today our beloved Jeanette is being operated on for colon cancer. I know there is another thread for offering support, but I thought I'd put this down for those who don't know Jeanette personally. That don't know her for the champions she is, for the wonderful caring person that lurks under that bubbly country girl persona.
I was fortunate enough to be the person that Jeanette confided in when she first discovered she had cancer. She asked me not to make if public knowledge apart to a few close friends. She didn't want want sympathy, (of course not she would never expect that for herself, no matter how deserving) and only let it become public knowledge on Colorectal cancer week in early July. Some of us have known for a couple of months. That is the sort of person she is. The quiet battler. Well I believe she is deserving of our support and love. She is deserving of our care and compassion, even if she doesn't think she wants it/deserves it.
So during your activities today, whether you are at work, home or on holidays, take a couple of minutes out of your day and send some caring thoughts, prayers and well wishes to a genuine Aussie battler and one hell of a lovely lady.
Thanks
