Aurora Display 1st June - Gerroa Headland

Hi folks - great to see some beautiful pics already of this latest event. I was really determined to catch this one after missing the big ones in May/Oct24 due to weather and travel. So glad I made the decision to get out early as pretty much the entire south coast of NSW turned up at the same lookout - but despite the crowd the light show was beautiful with bright naked-eye visibility of both the red glow and bright vertical beams as they danced across the sky. It was a short-lived but wonderful display which started around 7pm and peaked in brightness between 8-8.30pm.

A few images attached taken with my little travel DSLR setup - Canon m50 mk2, pancake 22mm f2 lense, 13sec exposures @ iso1600.

First images I've ever taken of an aurora so any suggestions are very welcome!

Thanks for looking!

Thanks Martin & Joe. It is really quite an experience to witness these events. I’m glad I was able to walk away with a memento of the night!

Cheers Greg & Steve - being in the right place at the right time for these ones requires so much luck…especially when from my location I have to travel 2hrs. I feel very fortunate to have been able to catch it!
