Wow, that's some amazing drone footage. There's not the slightest vibration as the camera pans or tilts, what type of drone or gimbal is vibration free, something I couldn't get with a 450 helicopter I bought my son.
It doesn't matter, I've gotten my son a couple of drones but Lithgow is a total No fly zone because we have a fly in, fly out hospital with staff who can't treat much locally. I sat through a major heart attack in 2012 with my son stating he thought they'd kill me if they got me to the local hospital (no disrespect intended to those working there).

I believe Hinze Dam on the day of video was spilling at approx 60 m3/s.
Ooh the thought of living downstream from some of the bigger Dams in the world is definitely a NO for this duck,,,

Thnx Andrew, am enjoying the drone camera perspective a fair bit, being steady with controls and learning compositions (similar to camera photog surprisingly) and videography cinematic capers, long way to go but atleast recognising a few 'what not to do's' for now.
Yes no microphone on drone for obvious noise reasons so I actually used the phones Voice Memo's app, walking close and away and back again plus other variations etc, good enough quality for this purpose, email to puuta, download and import to the video editing software where you can cut and sinc to each new scene, also add fade in or fade out upto 10sec periods, can overlap separate recordings, adjust volumes etc, quite versatile !

No up them steps I agree but down that flat wide bit with a boogey board would be fun Leo, Yehaaah..
The footage is surprisingly steady, speshly in low wind, but the thing is being at a distance from the subject naturally mitigates movement, can experiment with just your phone, take a video of your hand at arms length and wobble, shake or vibrate the phone a little bit as you watch the video, you can easily see the shake,, then try the same on a distant tree or building or telegraph pole across the street or what have you, you'll flat out notice any shake and the drones camera gimbal sits quite steady anyway, then its also a matter of carefully and lightly handling the controls to avoid sudden movements, plus you can Cut any rough accidental recordings in production.

Bob is your drone simply controlled by your phone (by you with your phone)?
I see some of the fancy things now with head mounted VR equipment but you don't want to be walking around with that on.
I bought my son an expensive controller which had a screen for the camera to display on but the heli was a bust because we live close to the hospital and can't use any of it.
Medical, I do at least 100-150 push ups every day and can hold a full plank for 5 minutes, no elbows and knees (I can hold a single floor board much longer, lol). I work hard on staying somewhat fit when I can, still, I'm a 57Kg weakling (was 68 before Christmas) but I'm trying to keep what little I have.
Hey Leo, I'm using the DJI Mini 3 pro with the Dji RC controller (pic attached) Some come with controllers with no screen and need use an App to use a phones screen to view video while flying, but the DJI RC has the built in screen, worth the extra $$ for sure...
The 3 pro's are a bit rare atm, the 3 is good bang for buck, the newer 4's and 4 pro's have a few minutes longer flight times, and more 'onboard features, better tracking etc , , ,
My Son uses an entry-level drone with the VR Head set, more designed for race and stunt capers I believe , ,
The advantage with the Mini's is they are under 250gms so one does not need to register them to fly, that said you still need to obey 'No flight Zones, Restricted Areas, etc.. , All these come up in the RC Controller's flight map, which syncs into Satellite GPS system,,,
To compare with their bigger brother drone's like DJI Mavic's etc, apart from registering them, they are more stable in stronger winds . and some are ok flying in light to moderate rain which is an advantage for industrial purposes..
There are quite a few YouTube tutes about each model and the differences etc
Thanks Bob, that's very interesting. I thought all of the DJI now required pilot licenses. I have seen video of idiots in control through our large bushfire some years back (the one that spread over near the entirety of the blue mountains), drones zooming past tired volunteer fire-fighters. I see the reason for restrictions on certain devices. Your video is TOP NOTCH, your control is impeccable!
