Jupiter under fair seeing in Melbourne

Last night the weather started of cloudy, but conditions improved after 9:30pm with some fair Seeing. Jetstream was between 20 to 30 Knots. Was able to obtain some very good in focus videos of Jupiter with reasonable contrast over the two hours I spent on the subject. However, as the seeing was fair the finer planetary detail was obscured and only occasionally seen.

The image attached was a total of 6 video files process through AutoStakkert, Registax and WinJUPOS. Quite a bit of large detail can be seen how finer planetary detail is obscured however some detail like white oval can be seen.

All up not too bad. Just wait on a night of excellent Seeing.

Same equipment as always.

Cheers

P.S. Here is a nice little article about "Seeing" by Damian Peach for your reading pleasure.
