The Sun late Dec 2024

27th/28th Dec.
Activity on the Sun in the past few days has shown lots of features to image.
Sunspots, flares and filaments.
The first image is a single exposure to show the sunspots - taken with a Canon 550d camera at 540 nm thru a herschel wedge. The active regions are numbered. Lots of small sunspots.
The second image shows the Suns NE sector, the third image the SW sector - both single exposures at Ha wavelength (656 nm) to show the flares, filaments and some small prominences.
Regards to all,
John W.

Nice coverage of the activity John, might be the start of its 2nd Max Peak,,, it seemed to have quietened for a period.
