Carina Nebula

Hello all. Here is my go at Carina nebula.
250 F4 Newtonian, EQ6R, Modded canon 600D DSLR
317x45sec lights over 3 nights
30 each of D, F, DFs on each night
ASTAP, SIRIL, GIMP
Might have overdone the sharpening a bit!
Comments, advice welcome,
Rob

Hi Rob,

A good image for sure, but you're right about the sharpening - definitely a bit overdone there.

Any chance of seeing a less-sharpened image?

Cheers,
V.

Yep, got carried away. Did 2 lots of sharpening even though I thought it might have been a bad idea as I was doing it. Rob

Reprocess and less sharp Carina Nebula

Steve, I finally managed a less sharp reprocess. Changed some techniques as well. Advice welcome. Rob
PS thanks Steve and Carl.

Thanks, Bob, Nik and Steve. I did a 3rd process which I think is my best and is attached here. It shows the mystic mountain better. It is a bit sharper but not as crazy as my first attempt. Rob

Great job, Rob. I like the third one the best because of its clarity, graded contrasts and sense of depth - nicely balanced.
