red headlight

Hi everyone,

I found this link to a place that sells LED headlights with red LEDs in them. They have low/med/high settings and are only $18 AUD + delivery. Thats a lot cheaper than the ones I was looking at in my local outdoor/camping shop.

http://www.ledshoponline.com/12_led_headlamp.htm#red

The only problem is that the have a minimum purchase price of $20, which mean you have to buy something else from them as the headlight is only $18. I guess a couple of people in the same area could get together and order a few at once.

Anyway, I thought I would share the link in case anyone was interested.

Cheers.

C.

Link works for me

I have a torch with a single high intensity red led and its a bit too bright for close work in the dark. 12 leds would be over the top if you're concerned about the dark adaptation of yourself and others around you.

Minimum on that light seems to be 4 LEDs on. I adapted a white light head torch by replacing the first setting of 3 white LEDs with 3 red LEDs (and changed the dropping resistors). But, those three are really too bright - I think I have to disconnect one of them.
