W Bond

Hi all,

Crater W Bond with its distinctly square shape. Named for American amateur astronomer William C Bond (1789-1859) who discovered the Great Comet of 1810, co-discovered Saturn's moon, Hyperion, the Crepe Ring, and was the first to photograph a star, Vega - as you do.....

Epigenes, named for Epigenes of Byzantium (fl 200BC) shows a well-striated wall glowing in the sunrise.

Goldschmidt named for German astronomer Herman Goldschmidt (1802-1866) shows some stark shadows at sunrise. Goldschmidt was inspired to be an astronomer after attending a talk by Urbain Le Verrier who predicted the position of Neptune.

Celestron Edge HD 14", ZWO 178mm camera, IR Pass Filter, Approx. 2,000 frames stacked in Autostakkert!3 and sharpened in Registax.
