C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan–ATLAS)

Houghy and I travelled in to Nobbys Beach on Thursday October 3 for the last chance to grab the comet. This is my effort. EOS Ra, 135mm f2 Rokinon Lens Polarie portable tracker. 19 x 15 secs iso 800. Comet aligned and stacked with IRIS then background extraction with Siril to smooth out the strong gradient. Was a good number of people from our Newcastle Astronomical Society. Comet was hard to see visually but glimpsed it naked eye for about a minute or so and bright core visible in 10 inch scope that was there

A spectacular shot. Is this comet going to reappear after it goes around the sun (assuming it hasn't done so already).

Greg.

Wonderful shot, Scott. It's everything a comet ought to be!
