Old laptop with USB-3
Does anyone have an old laptop with USB-3 they'd like to dispose of?
I use my sons 2011 HP Probook occasionally, i5 processor but no USB-3 except through an ExpressCard which keeps falling out. It works occasionally, the laptop that is (I'll strip it down and find the problem one day too). It's getting very old.
HDD capacity not important, RAM capacity not important, battery capacity not important, preferably i5-i7 processor I can strip, repair and build most laptops in my sleep (except for these new-fangled Surface Pro's, I haven't tried one of those).
No OS required.
What I'm looking for is pre-loved, long discarded and cheap.
I need something more portable for imaging than dragging a desktop, monitor, keyboard and mouse out into my back yard, there must be an easier way.
A hammer and chisel in a rock wall would be so much simpler than what I currently do (probably quicker too)!
A mini PC is no good, I'd still need a monitor/keyboard/mouse because my entire set-up is drag everything out into my back yard.
