More H-alpha

My recent posting of my Sagittarius triplet effort drew the comment it would be nice to see the whole sky done with a venerable Taka FSQ106.

This jogged a memory of an earlier effort....OK not the whole sky... but with the
Galaxy overhead this time of year, it seemed worth revisiting.

Stunning! I think a well execute monochrome Ha image typically gets overlooked because it's not as ostentatious as a full HaRGB or SHO image, but there is a very simplistic beauty in a monochrome image of a densely populated emission line field.

I recently threw together a mosaic from SH-2-54 through to M18 and was blown away by how much Ha light is emitted from the 'empty' areas between the well known targets.

Had I planned my imaging, the panels would have aligned a little better.

As is typical of FSQ106 images, the detail here is amazing despite the pixel scale! They sure are a special optical system...

Well done Peter.
