I have block exams that around that week so I must study.

I'll have to see if I have blocks after that weekend.

Otherwise I wouldn't dare miss it.

I definitely can't make it Saturday Ron after all, apologies to you and everyone else.

As per our chat last night if weather permits I'll come out for a visit either Monday, or more likely Tuesday, so we can share some sky for a few hours. I'll call you Ron and check it's still ok sometime between now and then.

Sorry Ron but I'm out also... I've got a photoshoot this Sunday which rules out this weekend.

I'd be interested in a Monday or Tuesday night with Steve if he is going to be there.

Can you please PM me Steve and let me know when you will be heading out? If I'm welcome that is?

Have fun Saturday night everyone.

Cheers,

Dave.

Looks like typical Nambour Show Weekend weather anyway.

Just one year I'd like to see the Nambour Show be fine on the Friday public holiday

Dave I'll definitely let you know - at this point I'd say if it suits Ron I'll be more likely to go out Tuesday night rather than Monday, but the way the weather has been if Monday's looking good it may be hard to turn down!

Have a great night folks. It's absolutely beautiful atm, up here at the top of the hill. A bit windy, but crisp and clear to the horizon 50k away. All we need now is for the JS to take a holiday for a few hours.

A quick review from the Mapleton Observatory.
Well after 6.5 hours the wind hasn't really let up, and the seeing is the absolute pits, but boy is it a beautiful wide field night. The milky way is absolutely stunning tonight. And it's as "black as" here tonight.

Hope others are getting to enjoy it as well.

I hope you're having a great night Ron, and anyone ese who managed to attend after all. It's always a great night at Ron's one way or another, wish I was there!

I had the dob out in the yard at home for a while before coming in to work, I managed to observe the double transit as far as the 2nd shadow being clearly delineated from the edge of Jupiter. As Paul said the sky is dark but seeing was coming and going quite a bit at my place too. I had a go at some afocal shots of Jupiter, I look forward to having a look at my results sometime later tomorrow. My camera has no manual focus so it's likely I've captured many shots of indistinct blobs as usual.

Cheers folks, grab some photons for me too.
