SC-1 Toucam mod Questions.

Hello people,

Back again to pick the brains of those more wise.

I've just finished doing the first SC mod to a spc900 Toucam. All is well with the camera, and it continues to function as a normal web cam.

I ran some tests to see if i was getting the right values both from the USB-serial adapter, and the camera. What i have found puzzled me.

I have achieved getting 0-6v trigger from K3ccd LX function as required (i believe) at pin 6 of my dead bug, however there seems to be a 5 volt pd between pin 6 and the ground pin 7. (on the 'bug')

N.B I haven't done the amp-off mod to this camera.

1. Is this right?

2. Does the ground from the usb-serial adapter, ground on pin 7 (of chip) as well?

3. The usb-serial adapter gives normally (-12) - (+12v) signals. i made a mod to get 0-6v. Should i have done this? (the data sheet for the HCF4066B Say's it will deal with 15v signal inputs)

4. Does anyone know of a site that goes into faults with these mods?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Tanks

It's OK, i've answered my own questions.

1. Yes, thats cause it's tied to the 5v rail by the 10kohm resistor...(stupid!!!)

2. Your USB-serial adapter must have the full transistor circut, not just a diode and a resistor......(lazy/stupid!!!)

3. Now it all works great!

All hail the great Steve C.
