LZOS 105/650 f6.2 Carbon Fibre APO

Hi All

I've been a bit silly and got another scope (from Astromart)

I've currently got a WO GT-71 & 81 (yes both, but will need to sell one as silly having both), but when I saw this on Astromart I thought it would be a good choice for grab and go when travelling around Oz in our caravan. Got an Avalon M-Zero so can handle the weight of one or both scopes if I get adventurous.

Think I've done the right thing???

PS, Mods if this post is in the wrong section can you move to the right one please, thanks.

Those LZOS lenses are supposed to be as good as it gets. How can that be wrong?

LZOS optical systems are sublime, especially when, like this one, it is a TMB design.

The first gen William Optics FLT-110's and FLT-132's all had TMB designed, LZOS lenses and were utterly amazing!

You'd be hard pressed to get a better triplet APO...

If you decide that you're going to sell a scope, and for some STRANGE reason, this is the scope you decide to let go, Just remember - I called dibbs first!

I miss my TMB scope a great deal, I should never have sold it.

Morton / Alex

Thanks for the replies.

The only reason I mentioned wrong is buying another scope when I've already got a GT-71 & 81 and haven't even started astro yet. As you say with the LZOS 105 I can't go wrong.

Also lucky that Barry C. had a Riccardi 0.75x Reducer / Flattener so I'll have that to take photos, and give me the option of 487mm at f4.65

Cheers, John

105/F6.2 is a good formula for a widefield APO.

I have a CFF 105 F6 and it's fabulous. I intend to image with it a lot more than I have.

Greg.
