X5 Solar Flare on NYE UT

Hi

Attached is an image of the X5 class Solar flare that became visible on new years eve (UT)..visible here in Melbourne the following morning.

The image is from the best 30 of 48 reconstructed frames taken through my spectroheliograph between 21:37UT and 22:02UT.

Imaged through a 100mm f/9 Skywatcher refractor.

Heavily compressed version attached.

Better one here: https://flic.kr/p/2pqRTes

Cheers
Maurice

I have to say your solar h-alpha work is amongst the best examples in Oz at present.
Sadly such high calibre solar images don't receive much kudos here, but don't be discouraged....

and please keep posting. It's wonderful stuff
