Greenwich APOTY 2023

Not long to go now.

Royal Greenwich Observatory's 2023 Astronomy Photographer of the year
awards will be announced in a video presentation on the 14th of this month (GMT)

There are a few Aussies in the mix.

Good luck to those on the short list

Congratulations to Paul Montague and James Baguley for making
it onto the podium for their HC images at Royal Greenwich

Some other bloke did OK too

There were a number of other Aussies who made the short list,
which is no easy feat given the 4000+ entrants from across the globe.

The Greenwich comp might not get much traction here, but the reality is, it doesn't require you use Brand-X gear or be part of a club or clique where your mates give you wink and nudge to compete.

An open competition is tough.

You've now stood on the podium of a global AP stage, so well deserved kudos Paul.

Hi

Is someone able to inform me of the equipment used to take the winning Andromeda shot. For all the publicity I can find no reference to this.

The winning team used Taka EDXIV's, 3nm filters, EQ6 and IMX455 based cameras.

Plus a very impressive +110 hour exposure time for a well deserved win.
