NGC 2004 et. al. SHO : AAPOOD2 3 Nov. 2023

In March 2022 I posted an RGB_HOO version of this field in the LMC but did not get around to incorporating the SII data captured at the time. I've rectified that now with this full narrowband version. I haven't processed a full narrowband image for a while so took the time to try out a few new techniques using Pixinsight software and dedicated narrowband scripts. More details can be found on the Astrobin post.

Clear skies,
Rodney

Cracking shot Rodney, well done! Good use of the real estate, love the colour blend and the starless shows off your skill with precise contrast curves. congrats!

Thanks Allan/Adam, the 1.5d FOV of my TSA120/QSI 683 does provide good opportunities for framing these objects.

Glorious shot! Man that frame is just jam packed full. I think the SII has really added a new dimension. Fantastic work!

A fantastic field there Rodney. That's my favourite area of the LMC and you've done a really good job of it.

Greg.

Thanks David and Greg. There is no doubting that the Magellanic Clouds hold a feast of objects, particularly in narrowband. Much fun to explore
