Montes Riphaeus

Hi all,
The much ignored Riphaeus Mountains (189km x 30-50km). They lie on the north west border of the Mare Cognitum, the Known Sea, named for the images sent back by Ranger 7 as it crashed into the mare floor.

The name Riphaeus refers to the classical story of perpetually snow-covered mountains of the same name marking the northern limit of the world from where the cold Boreas wind derives.
