What is it worth please, Celestron CPC 800 GPS (XLT)

Hi Guys, at the place where I am caretaking the owner is a CEO of mining companies and constantly travels for business.

Because he travels so much he had accumulated many frequent flyer points and was rewarded with a gift that he could choose and it was the following Telescope.

I think he got it because it looked good and his intentions were to use it but that has never happened.

It is about two years old and was put on it mount inside the library and there it has stood for that time.
I has never seen the light of night so to speak, and has never been used, ever.

Because he knows I talk to you guys he has asked if I might be able to sell it for him, and I said I will inquire what it is worth.

It is listed at Bintel for $4999.00, but that is now his is about two years old so what would be a fair price please.

The scope is identical to the photos below. and comes with all accessories, Finder, 40mm Eyepiece, Diagonal, all cables and leads, full instruction manual, etc.

Please PM me if you need any other info.

Thank you for your suggestions in advance.

Leon

Hi Leon,

Just a reminder that it’s against the TOS rules to sell items on behalf of someone else.
You’re welcome to ask for advice on a sale price but won’t be allowed to list it for sale here.

Sorry mate.

Really Andrew, this is a legitimate, I really don't get that I have seen others sell for others occasionally.

Anyway that proves awkward, this is the best place and advice for Telescope sales and advice

If you've seen any ads selling on behalf of others, I can almost guarantee you they were taken down soon after,
once we saw them or others have reported them.
The only time we allow them is when the person has received special permission from Mike to do so and that's very rare.
I've only seen it happen three or four times.

You're welcome to ask Mike first and see if he allows it.
