R Corona Australis dust cloud (and friends)

Managed a few nights under dark skies last week, with this one being the main campaign. Ended up with around 5hrs of worthwhile data (all 2min subs). Had a run through with the PI Annotate script and amazed how many distant galaxies noted - some very obvious but most tiny dots or invisible.

Around 10 years since last tackled this area and pleased how it popped out in the end.

That looks terrific on my phone.
There’s no substitute for dark skies.

Thanks guys. Had a bit more time and energy to resize them down under size limits today - not sure why the jpgs ended up darker though

Really were beautiful nights - couple of people commented how clear the stars were right down to the horizon on all sides, so very grateful for the days away.

Hi Rob,

I haven't been on here for ages but your image of Corona Australis is probably the best I can recall seeing. The dust looks fantastic against the background. And there is a small feature that looks like an eye on some weird creature....'
Well done!

Cheers, Chris

Thanks so much Chris. I was really happy how this one came together. Was fortunate to get 3 beautiful clear and steady nights last month from rural skies and so pleased to have this as memory of great weekend.

Glad you enjoyed and thanks for checking it out

Yeah mate, been out of the game a long time...

Stopped by to check out what everyone's been up to... Casually dropped my head into the buy/sell section... May have secured a new mount...

Will take me a few months to build up a full setup, but I'll piece together a rig and then I'm back in the game... Think my last night of imaging was 2015... All these clear nights have rekindled my interest, and I'm living in Elimbah now, so I can actually see stars from my house
