The SkyX Platesolve - how to change contrast on the image?
I have a small, mostly cosmetic issue with the TSX platesolver - in that for me it works fantastically well and with great reliability but I wish there was a permanent way to tweak one feature.
When I take a 5 second image from my 132mm refractor - the image displayed before it jumps into the image link solver looks way too bright - I can't see the stars on it (althought it certainly can).
If I click on the link later there are a few buttons down the bottom and one brings up a light point and dark point slider - and if I seqeeze these right together most stars become visible.
Just for asthetics - is there a way to set what shows on screen more permanently so I don't simple see what looks like a way overexposed frame?
Wow did I get a detailed answer from Thomas Bisque on how the image solving versus FITS viewer works - and succinctly setting I needed from Gregory B Miller!
If you’re just looking for a better display on your monitor, do this: Go to the “Camera” dialog box, then down at the bottom will be an “Auto Contrast Setup” button. Click that, then you’ll be presented with a drop-down list of display choices. “Heuristic” works best for me. You should only have to do this once.
