New coma corrected Eagle

A little boring Eagle but the Rowe corrector works well and all of the stars are a great colour. RGBHO over a few hours and a few nights with the 1600 at F5.

Really nice Ray, very clean and tidy. Is the Rowe the only CC you have tried?

Nothing boring about an Eagle, Ray - that’s a lovely image. I’d never heard of a Rowe corrector and had to look it up. Alex

Thanks John and Oscar. Busy with work and World Cup watching! Having fun finding more out about imaging with a newt. Always wanted to try the ROWE CC as it is reported to perform well.

The Rowe CC has a much longer focal length than my previous corrector MPCCiii which also worked well. However on the f5 newt it is a struggle to get the Rowe inboard down the tube sufficient to get focus with the stock focuser. I managed to do that using the Baader SW thread corrector adapter with the Rowe behind an extra M48 extension pushing it down inside the tube. The CC screws up from beneath into the adapter. Also helps to fit in filter wheel, thin guider and camera on both correctors backfocus.
