Cygnus Loop

So while the AM5 rig has been capturing some more appropriate DSO's with the big telescope, I broke out the ol' HEQ5, mounted up the OSC and camera lens and looked to the north. Night after night it captured the photons that managed to make their way through atmosphere and light dome to reach the sensor. because of the imaging scale, I didn't have to throw away too many subs.

I present for you, 21 hours in Cygnus. See it on Astrobin.

The quality and resolution is not what i am used to with the Narrowband setup, but it has been a good exercise none-the-less. I'm not sure if my (perceived?) quality issues are coming from the lens, the OSC, my processing, or the difficult shooting conditions - it barely reaches +30 degres above the horizon, and traverses directly through my worst light dome)

This was stacked in WBPP at Drizzle 2x, ABE > Cloned > StarXTerminator > NoiseXTerminator > EZSoftStretch > CurvesTransformation.

Clone > SPCC > StarXterminator > HT Performed on the Stars.

Stars reblended with pixel math, BlurXterminator.

That's really nice Josh and well processed to bring out all that colour and detail from so low in the sky!

Thanks Dave!, There is still some work to be done on it, but all things considered, i'm pretty pleased with the results. I think I'll end up giving this another go, possible with a scope (instead of a camera lens) and might even move across to the mono setup.
