I decided to have some fun with AstroPixel Processor to see how it handled multiple sessions and diferent exposure lengths. I had some data recently accumulated from urban Bribie Island using a SharpStar61EDPH (.8 reducer) and a Optaling L-Extreme filter - one sessin of 300 second subs and another of 600. I was surprised by the time it took to process it all, but also by the fact that it handled it relativelyseemlessly.
I wanted to do some wide-field of the Veil nebulae and the result is here (with all the compression artifactts that 200KB imposes).
Very well done, Peter. Lots of red & blue data in there to look at.
I tried APP, and it's multi-session capabilities are fantastic. The same goes for it's mosaic stitching capabilities. It may not be the fastest, but it gave me the best "out of the box" results.
Always great to see traditionally northern hemisphere targets, shot from down under, it's such a spectacular object and you got it all in too, excellent
That’s a great shot Peter and especially so given how low it sits to the north. APP is absolutely fantastic for integrating all manner of frames from different scopes or cameras. Time can be saved by integrating each data set separately, and then bringing those sets together for a mosaic.
