Lagoon Optolong L-Ultimate

I seem to be enjoying pixinsight more and more now that many contributors have made it more user friendly with scripts and addons for processes that work beautifully
Yes it's common and done to death but I like it
4.5 hours of 300 second (not minute) subs using the Optolong L-ultimate filter ZWO ASI 533mc Pro and the Askar FRA300 drizzled then resampled after processing using Astropixel processor for stacking and Pixinsight for processing
Used the Sywatcher EQ3 for more portability than the EQ6 it worked well after some regreasing and added some bearings, not perfect but pretty good for what it is. Acquired using the ASIAIR pro.

Processing was stack in Astopixel Processor drizzled x2 as it was undersampled. Started the process in Pixinsight Minor DBE ---> then resampled at 60% as my computer struggles with larger files. --->BlurX---> NoiseX --->StarX then GHBstretch for botht the neb and the stars then after tweaking the process for both the new star recombination script which is excellent. Final tweaks in Photoshop.

That is a very nicely composed and coloured (processed) image Nik. just curious though, did you mean 4.5 hrs of 300 sec. subs, not 300 mins.

Nice one Nik, not sure about the orange-red and it feels like you needed juuust a bit larger FOV but nice fine stars and yes, it does look wispy

Your little Sywatcher EQ3 sounds like a wee ripper

Thanks Mike
I was experimenting with the colours a little just a touch,
As for the field of view it is a fraction tight with the 533 and square sensor. I won the camera in the optolong contest a few months ago and am playing around. I do have the skywatcher ed50 and starizona flattener I might try with as it gives a wider field or just use the 294. I am just waiting for the right weather...

OK all makes sense and nice work on winning the camera! Sounds like you have plenty to look forward to

We have been pretty lucky with the weather around Canberra in recent months, I've missed so many clear nights

Cheers Martin, I like the camera in terms of the lack of no sensor patterns with the filter and no amp glow, not a fan of the square sensor. but it does produce some nice results.
