Teleskop Service Problem

I recently ordered a TSRCKOLLI from Teleskop Service. They instead sent me a REEGO Pro, still charging the same price for the requested KOLLI. And sent it in a bag marked TSRCKOLLI!

There is some considerable difference in pricing, and at no stage was there any consideration given to me if this was even an acceptable change to my order. No communication regarding the change to my order.

Watch this space to see if TS lives up to their reputation - it is not the service I expected from this company...........

Just email Wolfie. I have dealt l with them for years and found they rarely make a mistake, and if it happens it is corrected immediately at no cost. You probably will told to keep the article they sent in error, and no return required.

Apparently, the TSRCKOLLI is no longer available due to the war in the Ukraine.

The REEGO was sent as an alternative replacement - without any consultation with myself - this being the only problem, apart from the considerable difference in price.

It's like ordering a Porsche and being delivered a Lada - the REEGO is not a good unit in my opinion. The reason given was that the ordering system is largely automated - seems AI has come a long way then, if a computer can place a collimator in an obviously marked zip lock bag.

And yes, the very reason I dealt with TS was due to their reputation - I just wish that they had simply explained the above and asked if it was acceptable prior to despatch halfway around the world.

I'll probably donate the REEGO to an astro club - can't stand to look at the wretched thing.

Ah well..............

I'd still be contacting them and asking for the price differential they are very good operators usually.

I am not dealing with Wolfie (unfortunately), but the other person who I am dealing with will as such remained un-named despite his reticence to accept that a business relies on its reputation.

The difference in $ is only a part of the issue - add the freight for an item not acceptable, then it becomes an issue.A big issue.

Still no response apart from the differential only.

Not, I believe a normal response from TS.

The main objective is to inform members that the TSRCKOLLI is no longer in production, and that a cheaper and inferior unit is being offered at the same price as of today.

I will no longer refer to this matter, will move along, put a 4kg hammer though it and mount it on the wall of the obs, as a constant reminder.......

After some further discussion with TS, they have referred the matter to their upper management. The end result being a full refund.

My thanks go to TS management in resolving this.

The offending unit to be donated to an Astro club.
