Great read - thanks for sharing! I wonder why they simply didn't build a cupped viewing platform around the dome - or even a quarted one that revolves of tracks? Having a floor that raises and descends sounds impressive - but a simple elevated floor like you would see in any sports stadium sounds simplicity to build and maintain!
