As if the satellites weren't enough...

Managed to get some clear skies the other night (w00t!) and spent a couple of hours observing Mars, Pollux (HIP37826) the Beehive Cluster (NGC2632) and others. A decent night with reasonable seeing, but...there are a lot of satellites in the sky these days! I was struck by how many I saw. And then I came across this article:

In short, Laser beams in the sky from a satellite were detected by ground based motion sensing cameras outside a museum in Japan.

And now I'm wondering - could this sort of thing affect astroimaging as well? I don't know enough about the wavelength of lasers to be able to work it out. Anyone got any thoughts?

I agree with you as far as Satellites are concerned. They are really becoming a nuisance.
