crescent moon and venus in daylight 20 may 2007

took this just a few minutes ago - about 1.5 hours to sunset and you can plainly see Venus and the crescent moon in broad daylight - get out and have a look Venus is at the 10o'clock position about 2 fingers to the let of the crescent moon.

Pentax k10d and the trusty 50-500 sigma lens on a tripod. note I rotated the shot to get them in

we now have your cloud???????!!! How unfair is this?? I thought we were to have clear skies for a while with this high pressure system that moved in. It has been an absolute riper of a day, beautiful !! now this, not even a sunset to look at, sniff sniff

i still read you great article re moon shots in sky and space from a few months back.
since your article, thin crescents are getting me hooked......no camera to image with, but cant wait to try and grab that "ultimate" image of how beautiful the eye sees these thin moons and planets
