My last attempt at C/2022 E3 ZTF was last Sunday night, February 12.

Looking good, well done.

I was trying to stack my subs yesterday in DSS after watching a few tutorials.
It looked so simple but everytime I did it, the result wasn't right.
The comet disappeared from the stacked image.
I asked someone else to try with my data and she got it first time.
So I did something wrong.
We did it together, she on her pc, me on mine and used messenger.
Everytime I got the same result, even though I had (almost) everything the same as her.
Finally after many hours I found one setting which was different to hers.
Now I got it.

That's a pain. Glad to hear you've got it sorted. I couldn't have helped you because I don't use DSS. I just raw pre-process in Lightroom then export. Then I rack, and stack in Photoshop.

Really lovely image of the comet!

I tried stacking my subs in DSS using the comet and stars option but the stars had colour but the comet came out mono!

I gave up yesterday trying to remove the stars/trails in the comet stacked image.

Fantastic result from such a short focal length lens. It must be a very good one to resolve so much detail from a tightly cropped image. I had a go last Saturday night at 750mm on a crop sensor and there was still plenty of room around the comet and tail. It's certainly fading and getting smaller day by day.

Hi Mick,

That 300EDIF is an exceptional lens for astrophotography. I can use it wide open f4 and it’s sharp to the corners.

Your result doesn’t surprise me because the comet had faded and shrunk dramatically over the week between my image and your attempt. I was hosting six people for a visual observation night last weekend so didn’t try but visually it had faded a lot.
